¡We stand with the people in resistance, in Rojava and Rojhilat!

From Abya Yala, we express our solidarity with the popular uprising in Rojhilat and Iran, and our support for the resistance of the people in Aleppo. Let’s defend Rojava. Let’s defend Rojhilat.

As Women Weaving Future, we raise our voices against any attack on our lives, territories, and communities. We join the resistance of women and peoples around the world who, with their courage and resilience, continue to build the path to freedom on a global scale. We in Abya Yala embrace the resistance of the women and peoples of Kurdistan, who defend their lands and communities with their own bodies.

Since December 28, 2025, a wave of protests has once again shaken the streets, towns, and cities of Western Kurdistan, within the borders of the Iranian regime. From day one, the strikes and protests have been supported by the Kurdish and Iranian Workers' Union, which made it clear in its first statement that this popular uprising is the front line against poverty, high inflation, economic collapse, dictatorial policies, repression of the people, and violence against women. It also declared that "Our struggle will continue until the country is freed from its oppressors." For us, it is clear that the uprising taking place today in Iran is the continuation of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" social revolution that erupted in September 2022 after the murder of the young Kurdish woman Jina Amini.

In the context of the protests, more than 2,217 people have been arrested and more than 47 protesters have been killed. During this second week of popular uprising, more than 27 cities and 88 districts have joined the protests, liberating several cities in western Kurdistan. The unrest has reached Tehran, confronting the presence of police and military forces. In Evin Prison in Tehran, Kurdish prisoners Zenyep Jelalian and Werîşe Muradî are leading a hunger strike by female prisoners in support of the popular protests. We denounce the Iranian regime, which, with its dictatorial policies based on fear and repression, has been subjugating, torturing, and murdering the peoples of Iran for more than 40 years!

Similarly, in the city of Aleppo, the Kurdish neighborhoods of Eşrefiyê and Şêxmeqsûd are facing a serious humanitarian crisis due to the embargo imposed by armed mercenary groups backed by Turkey and affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government. The population has been living for more than four months in an area plagued by hunger, medicine shortages, and a growing energy crisis. Since January 6, jihadist mercenary groups have launched a military offensive against these neighborhoods. This is a war of annihilation against the Kurdish people. The Syrian army, together with jihadist gangs and backed by Turkey, continues to attack the Kurdish population with heavy artillery and bombing. Hospitals and civilian residences are being bombed, and women and children are being captured by jihadists. In the midst of this war against humanity, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (Rojava) and QSD (Democratic Defense Forces) are resisting to prevent another genocide against the Kurdish people in Aleppo and to find paths of dialogue and peace that will stop this imposed war.

In the midst of this third world war that is shaking the entire world, women and peoples will continue to fight against genocide and for a life of freedom!

In Venezuela, in Palestine, in Sudan, and in Kurdistan!

We embrace the resistance of women and peoples in Kurdistan, who once again demonstrate to the entire world their example of dignity in the face of the terror of state fascism and the cruelty of war.
